City hosting trash and rubbish drop off days next two Sundays

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The City of Fernley will be hosting residential and trash drop-off days the next two Sundays, Oct. 6 and 13.

Residents looking to clean up their home and property can drop off their trash at the Out of Town Park or at the city Road Yard at 355 Cottonwood Ln. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Residents dropping off trash will be asked to identify what is being dropped off and will be directed by a foreman where to drop it into containers.

Items that will be accepted include residential building construction and demolition materials such as drywall and shingles, ashes, bedding, shrubs and tree limbs (no larger than 6 inches in diameter and 4 feet long), household furniture, street sweepings, rubbish, trash, household items, windows, yard waste, wood scraps, Christmas trees and old personal used items.

Household hazardous waste, home appliances and refuse from businesses will not be accepted.
