The Nevada Department of Transportation and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, will host a public meeting to gather input from the community and provide project information for proposed pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on a segment of Washeim Street, (SR-447) in Wadsworth. The proposed improvements include realigning existing crosswalks and adding street lighting at intersections, adding a multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, improving school zone signage, and improving roadside drainage.

The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic operations, multi-modal access, and safety for all roadway users including pedestrians and cyclists.

The meeting will be held at Natchez Elementary School from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, 4 - 7 p.m., with a presentation at 5:30 p.m.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend at their convenience any time during the meeting hours of 4-7 p.m. Project representatives will be on hand to discuss and answer questions. There will be a brief project presentation at 5:30 p.m., followed by a short question-and-answer period from the audience. Before and after the presentation, the meeting will be conducted as an open-house format to provide an opportunity to view displays and individually discuss the proposed improvements with representatives.

In addition to any comments received at the meeting, written or email comments will be accepted through Friday, Aug. 30, 2019. Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
