In-Tune tales brings musical storytelling to City Hall

In-Tune tales brings musical storytelling to City Hall
The Fernley Branch Library, in cooperation with the City of Fernley and the Pioneer Youth Center, have teamed up to feature local artists, In-Tune Tales, performing "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and other holiday stories in song.

This free holiday event will take place in Council Chambers at Fernley City Hall on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, from 1-2 p.m.

In-Tune Tales explore the rich tradition of children’s storytelling combined with live musical instruments and song. Their unique performances encourage children to develop their verbal, interactive, and attention skills, and to use their imaginations and minds.

This talented and engaging trio performs songs and children’s stories while creating a unique soundtrack using upright bass, guitar, violin, and vocals.

Traditional folk tales from a variety of world cultures and modern classics by Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss are all brought to life with music, song, lyrics, and musical sound effects. Their warm, humorous performance focuses on storytelling as a folk art, with live musical accompaniment all performed in the moment.

Group leader and lifelong musician, Scot Marshall, has worked as an entertainer since the age of 15. He learned the rich art of storytelling from his grandmother, who traveled with Chautauqua from 1916 to 1918. Scot is joined by his son, Graham Marshall, on violin and career musician Ron Savage on piano.
