After five years in business in a much less visible location, Royal Floors celebrated its move to a downtown location with a Grand Opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 12.
Royal Floors moved into its new location at 780 Main St. in the building formerly occupied by Napa Auto Parts in mid-July.
Royal Floors owner Troy Pefley has been in business since he opened Troy’s Carpet Installation and Repair in 2004. He purchased Royal Floors in 2012, and operated the business located on Mull Lane until purchasing the new building after a several month’s process.
“We didn’t want to rent, we wanted to buy our own building,” Pefley said. “We love it.”
Speaking at the Sept. 12 ribbon cutting, Fernley City Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem said the city is excited to have a new business downtown.
“This really exciting us see someone coming in and revitalizing downtown,” she said.
Chamber of Commerce President Kelly Brye complimented Pefley and his staff on their new building.
“It’s a beautiful business and operation,” Brye said. “Isn’t it fun to watch the evolution of successful businesspeople?”
Royal Floors manager Anthony McIntyre said the new location is a big step up both location and size wise, but said bigger plans are in the works.
“This is like a jump start to get us excited again and remind us why we do this and why we’re here, and allow us to dream big,” McIntyre said.
