Western Nevada College is offering three sessions of driver’s education classes this summer at Fernley High School.
The courses offer 30 hours of new driver education in a classroom setting, meeting requirements to obtain a Nevada driver’s license. The courses use lectures, interactive CD’s, videos and on occasion guest speakers: Auto Insurance, Accident Victims, DMV Examiner, Department of Public Safety, Law Enforcement, and the WNC Auto Instructor to give vehicle and engine component identification.
Class instruction will cover Nevada driving regulations, basic vehicle control, and challenging situations. The classes are open to students ages 15 and above.
Please Note: Driver Education class fees are non-refundable.
WNC also offers motorcycle rider’s courses.
Registration for a Basic Rider Course (BRC) – $160, Basic Rider Course II – $85 or the Advanced Rider Course (ARC) $85.
BRC -Learn how to ride a motorcycle in 2 1/2 days & earn your MSF completion card for a Nevada endorsement.
BRC II – This intermediate course has two functions – a license waiver for those who are currently riding or a Skills Waiver to update your skills.
ARC – for students who hold a Class M endorsement & want to hone their skill, understand their risk tolerance, etc.
Most insurance companies will offer a motorcycle discount when you complete one of these MSF courses.
