The Fernley Reporter

The Silverland Middle School girls basketball team finished its season with a 13-0 record, and as a team, they have lost only one game in the past two seasons, with a total rrecord of 25-1.

Coach Tom Kingston said he was privileged to have the opportunity to coach these young athletes for the past two years.

“It was amazing to have seen these girls grow from last year to this year and as they will continue to grow and have the ongoing dedication through their athletic careers,” Kingston said. “From the beginning, they’ve shown their want to learn and their want to get better and where we have ended is ineffable to explain of how proud and grateful I am for each and every one of them for giving me their all, and as a coach I couldn’t have asked for more. I have also become a better person through the process, it was my blessing to have had such an incredible group of girls to coach and teach the game of basketball the last two years. A big part of this is why I choose to coach, I cannot appreciate them enough for their effort and attitudes to improve their knowledge and skills as a basketball player.”
