Silver Springs homicide victims identified

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office has identified the three victims killed in Silver Springs Saturday night and says it is investigating the deaths as homicides.

The victims have been identified as Rebecca Driver, 46 and her parents Frank Evans, 67, and Coral Evans, 68, all of Silver Springs.

LCSO administrative director Michael Carlson said suspects in the case have been identified and the sheriff’s office believes they have fled the area.

“According to detectives, they also believe this is an isolated incident, and they want to reiterate what Sheriff Al McNeil stated yesterday, that at no time was there a threat to the community,” Carlson said in a release.

Carlson said this case remains a high priority for the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.

“Detectives are aggressively working possible leads, and all leads are outside the area,” he said.

Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to a medical call for an unconscious person on the 2800 block of Tonopah Avenue in Silver Springs at approximately 8:17 p.m. Saturday. When they arrived, deputies found Driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

As part of their coroner duties, deputies then went to inform Driver’s next of kin of her death, and found Frank and Coral Evans dead at their home on the 3000 block of E. 3rd Street.

No cause of death has been determined, Carlson said.

“The bodies are with the medical examiner and we’ll wait for their assessment before we even breach that subject,” he said.
