Police attempting to apprehend barricaded individual in Wadsworth

A man was arrested early Tuesday morning after an 11-hour standoff in Wadsworth that began Monday afternoon.
Rocky Boice, 39, was arrested at about 1:40 a.m. Tuesday and taken to the Washoe County Jail. There was also a Tribal warrant for his arrest from a reservation near Gardnerville. The specific charges against Boice were not listed in his booking information.
KTVN reported that a woman in the house with Boice was transported to the hospital with gunshot and stab wounds from an unrelated incident.
Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies, Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police, Sparks Police and the FBI were on the scene throughout the negotiation.
The standoff began at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, after police reported a man barricaded in a home on Railroad Circle, and asked the public to stay away from the scene.
Daycare/Headstart was placed on lockdown as a precaution, and the Wadsworth Community Building was opened for nearby residents who were unable to get to their homes.

5:55 p.m. update
The Las Vegas office of the FBI has reported that it is on scene as part of a multi-agency response to an armed and dangerous subject on tribal land in Wadsworth.

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is reporting that police are attempting to apprehend a suspect barricaded in Wadsworth.
Police are asking the public to stay away from the area of Railroad Circle, while police are attempting to apprehend a person who may be armed and dangerous. Tribal chairman Vinton Hawley said Daycare/Headstart is on lockdown as a precaution, and the Wadsworth Community Building will be open for those living in close proximity who may not be able to go home at this time.
KRNV News 4 reported seeing members of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, the bomb squad and SWAT on scene in the area of Railroad Circle.
