Lyon County Library system increases open hours in Fernley and Silver Springs

Starting Tuesday, March 2, the Fernley and Silver Springs library branches will have new extended open hours to the public.

The Fernley Library, at 575 Silver Lace Blvd., will now be open 5 days a week. Hours will be Tuesday and Wednesday 9 a.m.-6 p.m, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

The Silver Springs Library, 3905 Hwy. 50 West, will now be open 5 days a week Tuesday-Saturday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Closed Sundays and Mondays.

Library Director Amy Geddes said these increases in open hours are thanks to the Lyon County Board of County Commissioners approving an increase in staff hours for these branches at their February 4 meeting.
