Four new Lyon County COVID-19 cases, region’s eight death reported Tuesday

Four new cases of COVID-19  and one recovery were reported in Lyon County, by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center, as well as the eighth death from COVID-19 in the Quad County region.

The new Lyon County cases were a man in his 20s with no connection to a previously reported case, a man in his 20s with a connection to a previously reported case, a woman in her 50s with no connection to a previously reported case and a woman in her 50s with a workplace exposure.

There have been 135 total cases in Lyon County, with 95 recoveries and two deaths.

As of 6 p.m. July 7, 66 cases have been in the 89408 zip code, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC. The breakdown of cases by zip code within the Quad-County region is available at https://gethealthycarsoncity.org/covid-19-cases-by-zip-code/.

In all, there have now been 401 total cases, 266 recoveries and eight deaths in the Quad-County region. Eight Quad-County residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

There are two drive-thru COVID-19 testing events for Quad-County residents without symptoms this week. Testing is free of charge; first come, first served, no appointments or reservations.
