Food Bank of Northern Nevada adds Mobile Harvest distribution In Fernley

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada announced Jan. 30 that they will be adding a site for Mobile Harvest distribution in Fernley, beginning in February of 2018.

The Fernley location of Mobile Harvest will begin on Friday, Feb. 9 and will then take place the second Friday of each month at Living Faith Church from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Living Faith Church is located at 110 S. Center Street in Fernley.

People attending Mobile Harvest to received food are asked not to arrive more than an hour before the distribution start time.

Mobile Harvest is a direct service program through the Food Bank of Northern Nevada where fresh produce and other perishable foods are distributed to families in their neighborhoods. Each month the Mobile Harvest program provides fresh foods to nearly 7,000 people at more than 40 sites throughout the 90,000 square mile service area.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada uses Mobile Harvest to distribute fresh nutritious foods to those who need it. More than 40 percent of the food distributed by the food bank is fresh produce. One in every eight people do not know where their next meal is coming from and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada is helping an average of 95,000 people each month.
