Fernley City Council declares State of Emergency

In an emergency meeting Monday afternoon, the Fernley City Council approved a resolution declaring a local State of Emergency for the City of Fernley due to the potential public health threat posed by COVID-19.
The resolution gives the Mayor and his designee the authority to determine the following:
- Essential functions and services provided by the City
- Staff requirements, including allowing telecommuting
- Administrative leave when reasonable including employees impacted by childcare issues or contact with potentially affected persons
- Administration of utility late fees
- Closing of City Hall to the public
- Any other matters that are deemed necessary
