Fernley boys win two more in tournament

The Fernley High School boys basketball team bounced back from Friday’s loss with two wins Saturday in the Lake Mead Holiday Classic.

The Vaqueros beat Moapa Valley Saturday morning, 65-59.

Zach Burns scored 24 points and Drake Howe added 12.

Saturday afternoon, the Vaqueros beat Calvary Chapel 66-26.

Burns scored 19 and Howe had 13 for the Vaqueros.

Fernley went 3-1 in the tournament, and opens league play Tuesday at South Tahoe.
