Traffic flaggers and brief overnight through traffic closures will be in place at the Fernley roundabout beginning June 10 as the roundabout’s concrete curbing is replaced.

Traffic flaggers will be stationed at the roundabout between 8 p.m.-6 a.m. weekdays June 10 through June 21 as the aging concrete curbing encircling the center of the roundabout is replaced. Right hand turns will remain available, but traffic flaggers will periodically stop traffic traveling through the roundabout as construction equipment maneuvers to replace the concrete. Travel delays of up to 20 minutes should be anticipated if traveling through the roundabout during overnight hours. Motorists are advised to anticipate minor travel delays and traffic switches, and are reminded to travel safely through the work zone, following the guidance of traffic flaggers.

The aging concrete curbing in the center of the roundabout is deteriorating and needing replacement. Known as a truck apron, the curbing is made for freight trucks and other longer vehicles to travel over to better navigate the roundabout.
