Waste Management to resume extra curbside pickup June 1

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Waste Management announced Thursday that it will resume curbside extra waste and spring collection programs beginning June 1. This includes bagged, bundled and boxed waste outside of carts according to program restrictions. The collection of customers’ personal garbage cans will end on Friday, June 5.

Customers will be notified of the resumption of services through their preferred method of contact (email, text or phone call) and on wm.com/alerts.

In an announcement, the company said this decision is being made after careful consideration of many factors including the phased reopening of the communities announced Tuesday by Gov. Steve Sisolak. In addition, the company says it has worked to secure personal protective equipment for each front-line employee and has instituted additional procedures to protect employees.
