Two die of overdoses, third victim rescued twice

Two people died of apparent overdoses and a third victim was rescued twice in separate incidents Monday.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and North Lyon County Fire Department personnel were dispatched to an address on Jessica Lane at approximately 4:30 p.m. for the report of a man who was unconscious and unresponsive. When they arrived, they found three people unresponsive, all showing signs of a drug overdose. Deputies and fire department personnel began lifesaving measures, including the administration of the opioid reversal drug Narcan.

Two of the patients were pronounced dead at the scene and the third patient was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center for further treatment,

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division responded to conduct an investigation. A search of the home revealed evidence of recent illicit drug use by all three people. All evidence, including controlled substances, were seized and removed from the home.

At approximately 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, sheriffs deputies and fire district personnel were dispatched to a home on Wedge Lane for a reported overdose. There, they found the same person who had been transported to Renown from the Jessica Lane address who was unresponsive. Again, Narcan was administered and the person was again transported for additional treatment.

The Sheriff’s Office did not publicly identify any of the people involved.
