Three COVID-19 deaths reported in Lyon County Tuesday

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The Carson City Health and Human Services Quad-County Emergency Operations Center reported the deaths of three Lyon County residents due to COVID-19 on Tuesday, as well 42 new cases and five recoveries. In all, CCHHS reported 11 deaths, 144 new cases and 406 recoveries in the Quad-County region Tuesday.

CCHHS public information officer Jessica Rapp said CCHHS has received official death reports for each of the person who died signed by physicians or coroners stating COVID-19 as the leading cause of death.

“We do not report deaths prior to receiving the legal report to confirm the cause of death, which can be attributed to the increase in deaths reported today as it takes time for CCHHS to receive the report after the individual passes,” Rapp said.
