Suspect taken to mental health facility after shots fired call

A person who was accused of firing shots in a home on Tuesday was taken to a mental health facility for evaluation and criminal charges are pending.
According to Lyon County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy Mitch Brantingham, deputies responded to a call for shots fired inside a residence in the area of Jenny’s Lane and Mallard Way. The residence was evacuated leaving the suspect as the sole occupant.
A perimeter was established and deputies communicated to the suspect over the public address system.
The suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into a mental health facility and criminal charges are pending.
