Physician assistant joins Banner Health Fernley clinic

Banner Health is pleased to announce the addition of Sharon Maxwell, PA, to the team at the Banner Health Clinic: Family Medicine in Fernley.

Maxwell provides urgent care to patients, treating everything from the common cold and flu to ingrown toenails to rashes.

Maxwell started her medical career with the United States Navy, where she started as a Hospital Corpsman before advancing to clinical physician assistant. With more than 23 years of experience as a physician assistant, Maxwell is focused on providing her patients with the advice they need to feel better, while also helping their bodies heal as naturally as possible.

“From the time I was in high school, I have always wanted to be there for people when they needed help,” said Maxwell. “Everything I have done in my career, and will continue to do, is focused on ensuring my patients can get the most of out of life and be happy and productive.”

Maxwell previously spent eight years with Banner Health at the Churchill Community Hospital and Fernley Family Medical Clinics and is looking forward to reconnecting with the Fallon and Fernley communities.

After her initial physician assistant training at the Bowman-Gray School of Medicine, she graduated from University of Nebraska School of Medicine with her Master of Physician Assistant Studies in Family Medicine and received her Certification of Physician Assistance in Occupational and Environmental Medicine from Duke University School of Medicine. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

In her free time, Maxwell enjoys hiking and skiing. She was previously a competitive body builder and you’ll often find her at the gym.
