One person excluded from Fernley High School after positive COVID-19 test

One person has been excluded from school after a confirmed case of COVID-10 at Fernley High School, the Lyon County School District said Wednesday afternoon.

The district did not specify whether the person is a student or staff member. This is the second case of COVID-19 that resulted in exclusions from school at FHS.

The District said the school received confirmation of the positive test result on Wednesday. The District also said it is working with Carson City Health and Human Services t conduct contact tracing.

Principal Kent Jones said the person who tested positive has not been at school since Friday, Sept. 11.
