Five new cases, including one in Lyon County, one recovery, and the region’s first death due to COVID-19 were reported Wednesday by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center.
The death was a Carson City woman in her 70’s with underlying health conditions.
The new Lyon County case is a man in his 30’s, while the others are two Carson City women in their 30’s, a Carson City woman in her 50’s, and a Douglas County man in his 50’s.
The patient who recovered was a Douglas County resident.
In all, there have now been 68 confirmed cases in the Quad-County region, with 25 recoveries and one death. By county, there are 31 cases, 13 recoveries and one death in Carson City; 17 cases and seven recoveries in Douglas County; and 20 cases with five recoveries in Lyon County. Storey County has not had a confirmed case.
There are two Quad-County residents currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
Quad-County EOPS reports that as of April 21, approximately 1,124 COVID-19 tests were performed by all providers in the Quad-County region.
