One Lyon County COVID-19 death, six new cases, six recoveries reported Tuesday

The Quad County Emergency Operations Center reported the 12th death of a Lyon County resident with COVID-19 on Tuesday, along with six new cases of COVID-19 and six recoveries.

The person who died was a man in his 80s. Quad County EOC did not report whether the man had underlying health conditions.

There have been 560 total cases in Lyon County, 72 of them currently active, with 477 recoveries and 12 deaths.

The new cases reported by Quad County EOC are:

  • A girl under the age of 18 with a connection to a previously reported case.
  • A man in his teens with a connection to a previously reported case.
  • A man in his 40s with a connection to a previously reported case.
  • A woman in her 80s with a connection to a previously reported case.
  • A man in his 50s with a connection to a previously reported case.
  • A woman in her 30s with a connection to a previously reported case.

As of its most recent update at 6 p.m. Oct. 12, 221 total cases have been reported and 17 cases are active in the 89408 zip code, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC. In the Quad County region, there were 26 new cases, 33 recoveries and one death reported Tuesday. There have now been 1,646 total cases, 1,444 recoveries and 21 deaths in the Quad-County region.
