A blue 1990 Dodge sedan driven by Reyes was traveling eastbound on US 50A in the right-hand travel lane approaching the intersection with Desert Rose. The silver Cadillac SUV proceeded onto US 50A to make the left turn, striking the front of the Reyes’ Dodge sedan. The sedan was redirected in a northeasterly direction and came to rest blocking the right-hand lane and right shoulder of US 50A westbound. The silver Cadillac came to rest in the right-hand lane of US-50A eastbound.

Reyes was pronounced dead a short time later at an area hospital.
