New Zero Domestic Violence organization to hold first meeting May 24

The Fernley Reporter

Zero Domestic Violence is an organization dedicated to reducing violence (domestic, sexual, family and elder abuse), and provides education and intervention for the perpetrators.

This is a startup organization seeking volunteers to assist with community involvement. Nevada consistently ranks 1st in the nation for domestic violence fatalities. The first Volunteer Meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday May 24, at City Hall.

At the first meeting, a guest speaker will share her experience of losing a daughter because of domestic violence. They will explain the purpose of Zero Domestic Violence, the importance of the organization in our community, needed areas for volunteers; explain how to get involved with the organization and sign up volunteers.
