LCSO investigating stolen vehicles

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of vehicle thefts in Fernley and is reminding drivers to lock their vehicles when they are warming up in the morning.

According to LCSO, several vehicles were stolen on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 2. LCSO said all of the stolen vehicles were on and warming up when they were stolen. Three of the stolen vehicles were recovered by deputies, one remains outstanding.

Several deputies performed extra patrols throughout the morning and followed up on some leads regarding the stolen vehicles. The case is being actively investigated however, LCSO said this serves as a good reminder to encourage everyone to lock their vehicles when they are warming up in the morning and pay close attention to suspicious behavior in your neighborhoods.
