Greater Nevada Credit Union will host a community event to celebrate the grand opening of its new Fernley branch at 4 p.m. next Tuesday, Oct. 1.
Mayor Roy Edgington Jr., the Fernley Chamber of Commerce, the Nevada Veterans Coalition Color Guard and Fernley Vaquero Marching Band will each participate in the event, at 1510 E. Newlands Road.
The celebration will include the cutting of a money ribbon, $1,000 donation to Nevada Veterans Coalition to support the Wreaths Across America, raising of the colors by Veterans Coalition Color Guard, performances by the Fernley Vaquero Marching Band, a community grand opening and tours of the new Fernley branch.
The Fernley location is the 14th branch of Nevada’s largest domiciled, community-owned financial institution.
Construction of the new 10,000-square foot building started in August, 2018. The branch features a local member services team; video lending capabilities; drive-up Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) and 24/7 banking vestibule with an ITM and coin-counting machine securely accessed by simply swiping a GNCU VISA debit card. The building also features an additional space available for rent by local retailers.
GNCU is currently building two more branches, one in Sparks on Vista Blvd. near I-80 and a second in Elko.
