Golf tournament to benefit Wreaths Across America

Local Army veteran and Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient, Tony Martinez, is organizing the inaugural golf tournament benefiting “Wreaths Across America” hosted at Arrowcreek Country Club on Sunday, May 21.

Proceeds raised will be used to purchase holiday wreaths that will honor the fallen heroes who are buried at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, during the 2017 holiday season.

Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies, at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as more than 1,200 additional location in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.

  • The golf fundraiser on May 21 will help ensure that every Veteran buried in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley will be honored with a wreath this December. You can support the event in three ways:
    Register to play in the tournament. The format is a 2-person partner’s better ball with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.
  • The tournament includes: round of golf with cart on the Challenge course,  dinner, driving range balls, closet to the pin contest, mulligans, and raffles. The cost to play is $55 for Arrowcreek Members or $75 for non-members.
  • Proudly display your support with a Tee Sign or Banner Sponsorship that includes signage with your company logo or name at the event. Sponsorship opportunities start at $100.
  • They are respectfully accepting donations or raffle prizes if you would like to contribute but cannot play in the event.
