Four new Lyon County COVID-19 cases reported Thursday, one Wednesday

Four new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and one Wednesday were reported in Lyon County by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center.

In all, the Quad-County EOC reported 11 new cases both Wednesday and Thursday, along with five recoveries Wednesday and 21 Thursday.

The case reported Wednesday in Lyon County was a man in his 20’s with a connection to a previously reported case. The cases reported Thursday were a man in his 40s with no connection to a previously reported case, a man in his 80s with no connection to a previously reported case, a woman in her 40s with no connection to a previously reported case and a man in his 30s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Of the five recoveries in the region reported Wednesday, two were in Lyon County, while nine of the 21 recoveries reported Thursday were in Lyon County.

There have been 140 total cases in Lyon County, with 106 recoveries and two deaths.

As of 6 p.m. July 8, 66 cases have been in the 89408 zip code, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC. The breakdown of cases by zip code within the Quad-County region is available at https://gethealthycarsoncity.org/covid-19-cases-by-zip-code/.

In all, there have now been 423 total cases, 292 recoveries and eight deaths in the Quad-County region. Nine Quad-County residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

There are two drive-thru COVID-19 testing events for Quad-County residents without symptoms this week. Testing is free of charge; first come, first served, no appointments or reservations.

Free drive-through COVID-19 testing for Quad-County residents without symptoms is available from 8-11 a.m. Friday at Silver State High School. There are 200 tests available on a first-come, first-served basis.
