Fernley graduate Tyler Roemer was named to the All-Mountain West football second team, which was announced by the conference Wednesday afternoon.
Roemer, a redshirt freshman at San Diego State, started all 12 games at left tackle this season for the Aztecs.
As a left tackle, Roemer was responsible for protecting the blind side for quarterback Christian Chapman. He was also part of the offensive line unit that helped the Aztecs rank 12th in the nation in rushing at 252.3 yards per game. Running behind that line, Rashaad Penny led the nation in rushing with 2,027 yards and was named the MWC Offensive Player of the Year.
According to Pro Football Focus, Roemer allowed only three sacks in 317 pass snaps.
The all-conference team was selected by the league’s 12 head coaches and a select media panel.
