Fernley/Wadsworth Lions Club Food Drive

The Fernley/Wadsworth Lions Club is accepting donations for its annual Christmas Basket Food Drive. The club is in need of non-perishable food items to help locals who may have fallen on hard times and unable to purchase a holiday meal.

The Lions Club has placed food collection barrels throughout the community and encourages the community to get involved. Pictured above at a Scolari’s food barrel are Bob Uchishiba, treasurer, Ruth “Jobbie” Hume, secretary, Maria Duran, president, Steven Fritz , Scolari’s employee and  Toni Slunaker, tailtwister.

The last day to donate is Dec. 22. The Club will hand out Christmas Baskets on Dec. 21 from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.  at the 76 Station on Main Street.

Donations accepted after the distribution date will be given to the food pantry and/or homebound residents.
