The Fernley High School soccer teams each defeated Battle Mountain Wednesday afternoon.
The girls team rallied from a 1-0 deficit with two late goals by Brooke Chapin for a 2-1 win.
Chapin booted in a left-footed shot from about 13 yards in front of the goal in the 64th minute to tie the game 1-1, then nailed another shot from about 10 yards out 11 minutes later.
The boys team beat Battle Mountain 4-0. Sophomore Sebastian Contreras scored two goals, sophomore Kyle Heimbruch scored one and and junior Dillon Peterson scored one.
“The boys’ played very well the second half of the game,” coach Erin Geil said. “They controlled possession and worked well together to move the ball around.”
