The Fernley American Legion Post 37 and Battle Born Offroaders will be presenting a tactical vest Friday afternoon to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office for its newest K-9 officer, Linda.
Linda will be working with LCSO deputy McCulough, who is assigned to the Western Command as the School Resource Officer for all Dayton schools. Linda is a 3-year old German short hair pointer, originally from the country of Hungary and came to the sheriff’s office through Vohne Liche Kennels, out of Banning, Calif.
Linda was purchased through donations, with special thanks from the Sheriff’s Office to the Yerington Lions Club, and Larry and Linda Martin of Dayton.
American Legion Post 37 donated the money for the tactical vest. The presentation of the vest to the sheriff’s office will be made at 3 p.m. Friday at the Fernley substation.
