The driver in the Dec. 14 fatal crash south of Fernley was sentenced to serve a minimum of 6 to 20 years in the Nevada State Prison.
Stephen Murray of Alta, Calif. pleaded guilty and was sentenced March 20 in Lyon County District Court to (1) count of DUI (Controlled Substance) causing the death of 25-year old Stephen Johnson of Silver Springs.
Murray, who was 54 at the time of his arrest, was charged with DUI causing death, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and driving left of center after the crash on Dec. 14, 2016 on U.S. 95A near Quarry Road.
