The Lyon County District Attorney’s Office alleges that Naomi Irion was shot to death, in a new criminal complaint filed April 5 in Fernley Justice Court that outlines the charges against Troy Driver.

The complaint, signed by District Attorney Stephen Rye, charges that Driver shot Irion with premeditation and deliberation, at or near a rural portion of northern Churchill County. Irion’s body was found last week in a shallow grave in rural Churchill County. The Churchill County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday the cause of her death was gunshot wounds to the head and chest.

The criminal complaint against Driver charges him with first degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon, kidnapping in the first degree, robbery, burglary and destruction of evidence. The robber charge alleges that driver entered Irion’s car and drove away with her in it against her will. The burglary charge alleges that he entered the car with the intent to commit grand or petit larceny, assault or battery.

The charge of destroying evidence is a gross misdemeanor. The criminal complaint charges that Driver disposed of the tires of his truck to conceal or destroy evidence and to conceal his identity as the one responsible for the crimes. It also charges that he buried Irion’s body and destroyed or concealed her cell phone.
