BLC Builders breaks ground on Small Strides Daycare Facility at TRIC

BLC Builders has announced the groundbreaking of a new Small Strides Daycare facility, located at the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center, off USA Parkway.

The new facility, which is the second Small Strides project for BLC and third location for the childcare company, will be a total of 12,415 square feet and able to accommodate more than 200 children. Features include 11 classrooms, two sleep rooms, an advanced motor skills area and two age-appropriate playground structures.

Construction consists of full wood framing, structural steel columns and beams, a decorative metal roof, two-tone stucco exterior and a wood exposure panel accent wall at the entrance. The project is scheduled to be completed in spring of 2024.

This is the first Small Strides location to be located outside of south Reno. The original Small Strides is located off Prototype Court and the second facility, constructed by BLC, is located off Kietzke Lane in the Mountain View West Corporate Center.

Small Strides is expanding to meet the growing need for high-quality childcare in the community. Their goal is to provide quality care and education that benefits the child, guardians, and community alike, all the while fostering confidence and curiosity in their little students. Each classroom provides a unique age-appropriate educational development program. Student to teacher ratios are kept low to offer a personalized developmental approach for each child.

“BLC is excited to embark on this project, fully aware of the pressing need in our local community for dependable childcare. As we move forward, we carry with us the gratitude of our repeat clients, a proud and enduring relationship with Small Strides, and an unwavering commitment to growing our brand while continuing to provide exceptional construction solutions that positively impact the lives of our community,” said Mark Folgner, president of BLC.
