Biggest Little Radio & Lions Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday

Joseph Maino, The Fernley Reporter

The Easter Bunny and many of his friends will be in Fernley on Easter Sunday. Jamie Rodriquez of Biggest Little Radio, said, “Last year, 3 weeks before the hunt the Lions Club had to cancel the event and needed someone to take it over. I was at the Rotary Club when they asked, ‘Who will take this over?’ I stood up and yelled, ‘I’ll do it. I’ll do it.’ Last year we had 1,000 children attend. This year we expect even more. Local stores, businesses and Fernley citizens donated money and goods for the event.”

In addition to the Easter Bunny and the 15,000 eggs for the hunt, face painters, 4H small animals, music by Biggest Little Radio, Princesses of Reno and Bounce Houses will add to the fun.

  • Regarding the Easter Egg Hunt in Fernley.Fernley Wadsworth Lions Club has been doing that event for the community for over 40yrs.No it was not given to Jamie Rodriguez of Biggest Little Radio. She is a Lion
in our club and volunteered to chair the project. We were never going to cancel it.Not sure where she got that.Any articles that are published must always be ok'd by the Fernley Wadsworth Lions Club board.
We sponsor many events and our members volunteer to chair them but don't take the credit for themselves. Its a Lions project. We're here to serve the community not ourselves.
