Fernley alum graduates from NYU

Jason Rader, a Fernley high school alum who graduated early to go to music school, graduated with honors this spring from New York University with a degree in mathematics. He has been accepted into the PhD program in Probability Theory at Oxford University and Imperial College London, where he plans to start this fall.

Rader graduated from Fernley High School in 2017 as a 15-year old after completing high school in one year.

He attended Berklee College of Music for a year where he discovered he had another passion –math.

He transferred to New York University to have more opportunities to learn about the advanced math topics he had become interested in.
