Settelmeyer to speak to Fernley Republican Women Nov. 17

Nevada State Senator James Settelmeyer will discuss the general election results and their impact on Nevada citizens as the guest speaker for the next meeting of the Fernley Republican Women Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fernley High School Commons area.

The public is always invited to attend.

Settelmeyer currently represents Churchill, Douglas, Lyon County, and Storey County in Senate District 17 and is the Minority Leader. First elected to the Nevada Legislature in 2006, he served in the Assembly until 2010, when he succeeded Mark Amodei in the Senate. Settelmeyer was born in Carson City and now lives and works on his family ranch in Douglas County. He is married to Sherese Settelmeyer and they have two daughters.

The FRW’s Caring for America/Adopt-a-Soldier Program collects non-perishable foods for the Fernley Food Bank, along with donations of funds and care items for their adopted soldiers. The soldiers need single serving food items, personal care items and, most especially, cards and letters from home. The Literacy Committee collects new children’s books for Bow Wow Books, an organization teamed up with the Fernley library to teach children how to read.
