The countdown has begun for impending graduates of Western Nevada College.

As the two-week mark nears for WNC’s three graduation ceremonies and reception, 2022 graduates are taking care of arrangements for their big day.

Drive-through ceremonies are scheduled Monday, May 23 and Tuesday May 24 on the Carson City campus and Thursday, May 26 on the Fallon campus. All three ceremonies start at 9 a.m.

In addition, WNC Interim President Dr. J. Kyle Dalpe has scheduled a reception for graduates from 4 to 6 p.m. May 23 in Carson City. Graduates can bring up to two guests. Graduates have been notified by email that it’s essential to RSVP if they are planning to attend the ceremony and/or reception.

If graduates didn’t previously order their caps, gowns and tassels online at wncbookstore.com, they should purchase them in person. The cost for a cap, gown and tassel is $26; a cap is $9.95 and the tassel is $6.

Students can purchase commencement regalia (caps, gowns and tassels) and return their rental books in person on the following dates at the Grad Store in Joe Dini Building 100:

This marks the third straight year that WNC is presenting its commencement ceremonies in a drive-through format. These ceremonies have been a huge success and there has been plenty of positive feedback from students and their families and friends.

For family and friends of graduates who are unable to attend commencement in a celebratory vehicle, all three ceremonies will be shown live on the WNC homepage.

  • Drive thru graduation sucks!
My daughter was robbed of high school graduation, prom and dinner and now she’s being robbed again.
It’s the stupidest thing WNC is doing!
