After a long weekend trip, the Fernley volleyball team is back on the road today.
The Vaqueros lost in four sets to Elko Friday night, winning the first set 25-21, before Elko took the next three 25-14, 25-18, 25-28.
Fernley bounced back Saturday night to salvage a split on the trip with a win at Spring Creek, 25-21, 25-19, 25-19.
“We played well both days,” coach Kiara Stone said. “We are still working on how to finish games. I was proud of the girls for coming back Saturday and winning in three.”
Fernley is now 2-4 in the Northern 3A, tied for sixth place with Elko, and 3-8 overall.
Tonight they go to Lovelock for a nonleague match. The Mustangs are 4-8 overall and 3-2 in the Northern 2A.
