A suspect in the deaths of three people in Silver Springs has been arrested in California.

Scott Baskette, 48, of Silver Springs, was taken into custody by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, with the support of the Nevada Department of Public Safety Investigations Division in Eureka, Calif. and is being held there pending extradition to Nevada.

Baskette is charged with the deaths of Rebecca Driver,  Frank Evans and Coral Evans on Oct. 7 in Silver Springs. Baskette is a former boyfriend of Rebecca Driver. The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says the two had separated four weeks ago after a 12-year relationship.

On Saturday evening Driver was found unconscious by her children, who made the 911 call to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and attempted to perform CPR. When deputies arrived on the scene, they pronounced Driver dead.

During the coroner’s investigation, deputies noted suspicious circumstances and detectives were brought into the case.

Later that evening, deputies went to the home of Driver’s parents, Frank and Coral Evans to make next-of-kin notifications, and found them both dead from fatal gunshot wounds.

Rebecca Driver leaves behind four children, ages 25, 18, 16 and 14.

Sheriff Al McNeil wants to thank the men and women of the Department of Public Safety Investigations Division, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Science Division and the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office for their tireless efforts and support of this case.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of the story said Baskette was arrested by the California Highway Patrol, but the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office later send amended information.
