Sparks robbery suspect arrested after standoff in Fernley

A suspect in a robbery in Sparks was arrested Monday evening after a standoff with Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers.

LCSO reports that shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, deputies and troopers assisted investigators from the Sparks Police Department in the arrest of a robbery suspect after a brief standoff on the 1600 block of Andy Way in Fernley.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s SWAT team was called in to assist, but the suspect surrendered before they were needed and was taken into custody by the Sparks Police Department.

Neither the name of the suspect or the charges against the person have been released.
