Rotary Club hosting free community Thanksgiving dinner at fire station

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The Rotary Club of Fernley will be hosting the 12th annual Fernley Community Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23 at the Main Street Fire Station.

There is no charge for the dinner, which is put together entirely by volunteers.

A complete Thanksgiving meal will be served, and meals will be delivered to homebound residents who request it.

The dinner began in 2012 as the idea from 10-year-old Sarah Jean Gleason, who believes we need to band together, help each other and build new relationships to strengthen our community.

Everyone is welcome to attend and share a Thanksgiving dinner, regardless of their circumstances.

For information or to request a dinner to be delivered, call Roy at (775) 790-5655 or Harry at (775) 835-2491.

Is proof of residency required to participate in the event?
