Quad County reports 1,160 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday due to change in reporting protocol

The Carson City Health and Human Services Quad County Emergency Operations Center reported 1,160 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, including 343 in Lyon County, as part of a change in its reporting protocol.

CCHHS public information officer Jessica Rapp said previously cases were not reported until an investigation was completed. However, Rapp said due to the increase in positivity rates, CCHHS will be reporting all positive labs as active cases prior to an investigation occurring

No information was provided about the new cases.

There have been 1,131 total cases in Lyon County, 404 of them currently active, with 711 recoveries and 16 deaths.

CCHHS has not yet updated the new cases by zip code. As of 6 p.m. Nov. 23, 315 total cases had been reported and 28 cases were active in the 89408 zip code, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC. The breakdown of cases by zip code within the Quad-County region is available at https://gethealthycarsoncity.org/covid-19-cases-by-zip-code/.

There have now been 4,153 total cases, 2,219 recoveries and 33 deaths in the Quad-County region.
