First Lyon County COVID-19 death reported Wednesday

The Quad-County Emergency Operations Center reported the first death of a Lyon County resident due to COVID-19 Wednesday.

The person who died was a Lyon County woman in her 70s with underlying health conditions.

There was also one recovery by a previously confirmed case in Lyon County. There have been 56 cases of COVID-19  Lyon County and 45 people have recovered. In the most recent update by Carson City Health and Human Services, 27 of Lyon County’s cases have been in the 89408 zip code.

Quad0-County EOC reported two new cases in the region Wednesday, a Carson City woman in her 30s and a Douglas County woman in her 40s.

In the region, there have now been 178 total cases, 129 recoveries and five deaths. Three Quad-County residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
