The Fernley High School volleyball team takes a 4-1 league record into tonight’s match against Dayton in a battle to remain in second place.
The Vaqueros suffered their first league loss at Lowry on Sept. 13, 25-21, 25-22, 25-23.
“We had a competitive match at Lowry,” coach David Trujillo said. “I loved the effort and energy, unfortunately we came up a bit short.”
Fernley rebounded two nights later to beat Sparks, 25-11, 25-13, 25-9.
“The girls bounced back and displayed great effort and intensity during the match,” Trujillo said.
Wednesday the Vaqueros lost a nonleague battle against Yerington, 25-3, 17-25, 25-23, 25-17.
