After losing four games at the Rail City Classic in Sparks this weekend, the Fernley Vaqueros get back to the games that matter, resuming league play with game tonight against Fallon.
The Vaqueros opened the Tournament with a loss to Selma (Calif.) last Wednesday. Thursday they lost to Antioch (Calif.) 77-51, lost to North Valleys 76-36 Friday, then finished the tournament with a 69-64 loss to Bella Vista (Fair Oaks, Calif.)
In Thursday’s game, the Vaqueros fell behind early to Antioch, trailing 25-8 after one quarter. The Vaqueros played the weekend without senior Zach Burns, who injured an ankle the week before in a game against Yerington.
Drew Miller, Rei Robinett ad Russ Ortiz each scored 11 points for Fernley, while Dario Ceresola scored 10.
Fernley stats for the games against North Valleys and Bella Vista weren’t available.
The Vaqueros go into Tuesday’s game with a 2-1 record in the Northern 3A and 7-6 overall.
