Five complete CERT training

On Saturday, Oct. 15, five community members completed their Emergency Response Training and are eligible to apply to become members of North Lyon County Fire Protection District’s CERT (Community Emergency Response Team).
The NLCFPD Basic CERT Training occurs over two weeks, two Thursday and Friday nights, and two Saturdays, a total of 24 hours, providing instruction on mass casualty: Disaster Preparedness, Fire Safety, Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue, Disaster Psychology, Terrorism and CERT, and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS).
Members of NLCFPD’s CERT meet every month on the first Monday at 6 p.m. and also train for to enhance their skills for mass casualty events from 6:30-8 p.m.
The five will receive their Certificates of Completion during the next meeting of the NLCFPD Board of Directors.
