FHS Spanish II students host Spanish Carnival for EVES 2nd graders

Fernley High School Spanish II students put on a Spanish Carnival for second graders at East Valley Elementary School for their final exam project. Students shared Spanish language and culture in seven-minute rotations with ten booths.
The booths included:
- Interactive games focusing on an intro to the Spanish language
- Music and dance from Julie and Carlos Ocampo- Peruvian musicians and interactive cultural educators
- Water balloon game
- Cupcakes and candy
- Lemonade
- Tissue paper window art project
- Group dancing with a hand clapping game
- A scavenger hunt
- Musical chairs and more.
“Students of all ages enjoyed the event and student interactions were priceless,” said Señora Tzeitel Borbon, Spanish teacher at Fernley High School. “A huge shout out to all those who made this event possible: my Spanish II students who worked tirelessly on making this event successful, Jessica Billings leading the awesome EVES 2nd grade teachers, students and support staff, musicians Julie and Carlos Ocampo, Sarah Braswell and the drivers who helped transport all the students and materials.”
