Atlas Counseling celebrates ribbon cutting

Atlas Counseling Center has been open in Fernley for a little more than a year, but it hosted a ribbon cutting last Thursday to celebrate its service to the community.
Fernley mayor Roy Edgington, several Fernley Chamber of Commerce members and others gathered for the celebration at the Fernley office at 415 Hwy. 95A South, Suite 702G.
Co-owned by Georgia Russell, Jenna Morton and John Phipps, Atlas Counseling offers community and behavioral health counseling services.
Russell said the Atlas Counseling offers behavioral therapy provided by Master’s level therapists, Bachelor’s level psychosocial rehabilitation and case management and other basic skills training, on a strictly outpatient basis.
They also offer therapeutic services for different diagnoses, including ADHD or PTSD.
“We’re basically just here to support the community,” Russell said,
While some referrals come from courts or probation, Russell said a lot of people want to put their kids in the center’s after school program.
Atlas Counseling Services has offices in Fernley, Reno, Lovelock and Yerington. Amanda Jasso is the office manager in Fernley and can be reached at (775) 575-2284.
“It’s been really fun for us to come support the rural communities,” Morton said.
